Workshop on advanced IT begins

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister for Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes A P Anil Kumar inaugurated a national workshop organised by Cyber Sree, an initiative of C-DIT, on Tuesday at the Fourth Estate Hall, Press Club. The Minister said that Cyber Sree has played a major role in providing technical training to the youth, enabling them to find successful careers. This was especially true in the case of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.  He also cited the success of Cyber Sree as an impetus to starting more regional centres in the State.   The workshop on ‘Advanced Information Technologies’ dealt with various topics related to software development, 3D animation, embedded systems and other technologies. Achut Sankar S Nair, Director, Department of Bioinformatics Kerala; Balu John, Department Head, and others presented papers.  The valedictory session will be attended by Minister for Welfare of Scheduled Tribes, P K Jayalakshmi.
