Dr Hazra challenged the theory on two important points with regard to the nature of time and distance.

Aizawl: The century old theory of Relativity propounded by Albert Einstein is coming under question with a West Bengal scientist’s comment that the theory suffers from serious shortcomings.

The contradiction of the relativity theory from Dr Shankar Hazra, a former engineer of Steel Authority of India really took the physicists as well as common mass by surprise.

Dr Hazra challenged the theory on two important points with regard to the nature of time and distance where Einstein theory stated, only speed of light in space is absolute, all other physical quantities including mass, time and distance are relative.

Dr Hazra has challenged the acceptance by the world community of Einstein's dual postulate for the nature of light.

He claimed that the shortcomings of the theory become extremely obvious when we consider complicated cases than the simple cases, which were considered by Lorenz and Albert Einstein.

"If there are two observers who are in relative motion with each other, the mass of a body have different values to observers. Time interval in between will not be the same for both observers," Dr Hazra added.

Contradicting Einstein's idea Dr Hazra attributed the manner in which the velocity of a body relative to another body has been described in the special theory of relativity, it is very similar to Newtonian mechanics except when it’s meant that the velocity of body is relative to ground.

Apart from Dr Hazra another scientist from Srinagar Dr S K Razdan raised similar question on Einstein theory in Vision beyond Relativity.

Vision beyond Relativity unifies the great twentieth century ideas and heralds a new approach to the explanation of many phenomena in the nature.
