Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is a busy woman these days given the hectic parleys to forge a coalition for upcoming general elections. But ‘Didi’ as she is fondly called, found time out of her tight schedule for a game of badminton in Birbhum district’s Bolpur on Thursday night.
Banerjee, who was in Bolpur for an administrative meeting, tweeted the video of herself with a caption, “We love sports. A token game in a village."
In the 32-second video, Banerjee can be seen playing the game quite well and doesn’t miss a beat as she returns volley after volley.

Badminton is not the CM’s only indulgence outside of politics. The Trinamool Congress chief has also penned books and wrote poems, some of which will now be part of the syllabus in West Bengal schools. Recently, during Durga Puja, she composed an album titled ‘Roudra Chhaya’ (Sunlight and Shadow) which consists of seven songs.
She also dabbles in painting, some of which are displayed in the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
