Kanpur: A sub-inspector who had sent his resignation via WhatsApp on a police helpline number, alleging harassment by senior officials, has been posted to Jhansi, with the authorities terming it a routine transfer.

He alleged that he was mentally stressed due to harassment ProSpell Demo Versionby senior officials.
Meanwhile, Kumar is meeting senior police officials in Lucknow over the matter.
A report has been submitted by Kanpur Dehat SP, Sabharaj who had been directed to investigate the matter.
The report states that Kumar had acted "carelessly" when he had been directed by senior officials to register FIRs on complaints of people who had come with their grievances on Tehsil Divas following which the seniors had asked him to complete the task on time, the IG said.
He added that Kumar had sent the resignation through WhatsApp rather than through "proper channels" which was against the rules, the IG added.
Meanwhile some NGOs have come forward against the transfer and are planning to take the matter to the DGP of the state.
