London: A 48-year-old man has been arrested after he claimed responsibility for Tuesday's letter bomb in London's Vantis company.

The man called in a live radio programme and called himself the 'Wockingham letter bomber' and wanted to go on air to explain his reasons for doing so.

The radio station informed the police and the man was detained under the Mental Health Act.

Vantis, a government agency in Wockingham, is involved in processing speeding fines.

On Monday, a letter bomb had exploded at a London company that controls the Capital's traffic congestion charge, slightly injuring a female worker, police said.

The letter exploded at an office belonging to Capita PLC, which administers the 8 pound ($16, 12) daily fee meant to cut down on traffic in central London and collects television licensing fees.

It also developed the database for the Criminal Records Bureau, combining data from 43 British police departments, and has significant contracts with government departments.

Vantis was targetted on Tuesday, and a woman was injured on Wednesday when a suspected parcel bomb exploded at a government agency in western Britain. This is the third such incident in the last three days.

The bomb detonated at the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency in south Wales.

The victim was taken to a hospital with injuries, which were not believed to be life-threatening.
