Islamabad: Two persons were killed and four others injured on Wednesday when a security check post in the southwestern Pakistani city of Quetta was targeted with a bomb, officials said.
The blast occurred near a check post manned by the Frontier Corps in the busy Saryab Road area of Quetta.
Police said the remote-controlled bomb was hidden in a motorcycle that was parked near the check post.
Reports said the blast was followed by an exchange of fire between security personnel and unidentified assailants.
TV news channels also reported that the attackers lobbed a grenade at a vehicle carrying security personnel.
