'Swachh Bharat' campaign launched in Nagaland
The Governor along with his wife Kavita Acharya, Chief Secretary Pankaj Kumar and other senior bureaucrats symbolically cleaned the Old Nagaland State Transport area in the heart of Kohima town on Monday evening.

Kohima: Nagaland Governor PB Acharya, a brand ambassador of the 'Swachh Bharat' mission, on Monday launched the campaign by symbolically cleaning a part of the state capital in Kohima.

The Governor along with his wife Kavita Acharya, Chief Secretary Pankaj Kumar and other senior bureaucrats symbolically cleaned the Old Nagaland State Transport area in the heart of Kohima town on Monday evening.

The Governor called upon various organisations and universities in the state to come forward in constructing public toilets at important locations and discourage use of plastics and thermocol.

The launching of the campaign for the state capital was organised by Kohima Municipal Council in collaboration with the State Urban Development Department, officials said. Swachh Bharat campaign, a cleanliness drive across India, was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti last year.
