KARIMNAGAR: In violation of the guidelines issued by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, a IVth class student in a private school and some IXth class students in a ZP High School were thrashed by teachers in different places.According to sources, several students of IXth class at the Sirikonda ZP High School were beaten up by their class teacher E Venkataramana for not paying additional amount for the farewell party. Ramana collected Rs 100 from each student for organising farewell party to Xth class students. The party was held on Feb 29.But the expenditure crossed the amount collected from the 60 students in his class and Ramana asked all of them to pay an extra Rs 60 each stating that he had spent the amount from his pocket. On Tuesday, the teacher lost his cool on the issue and beat several students. Following this, Kathalapur police took the teacher into custody and released him later. Meanwhile, the teacher tendered apology to the parents. In the other incident, Yerrolla Yashwanth (9), who is studying in IVth class at Tetra Hedron Model School in Huzurabad was beaten on his thigh by the class teacher leading to an injury. The incident happened on Monday when Yashwanth and his classmate had an argument on some issue. Class teacher Venugopal, who saw the boys arguing, called the duo and beat up Yashwanth on his thigh. On Tuesday, the boy's parents, along with their neighbours, went to the school and staged a dharna there demanding action against the teacher.
