Just read an article about it and made me wonder why do we have the habit of complicating things?? I think having a simple life bores people and then they complain about problems in their lives.

" In today's times" (hate the expression) with the kind of life people are living stress is like clothes. You have a different one each day and almost like clothes, we chose the kind of stress we want to carry everyday. Some of us carry them in style and some...well some are misfits in this stressful era.

People give vent to their stress in different ways. Two options are widely used: one is verbally which can be loud and the other one as written in the article is the silent treatment. Surprisingly most of the people are more tolerant towards the verbal outlet but Silence sometimes is not golden.

Silence most of the times is misinterpreted as a problem, protest or a punishment not as a time out. If you are a silent type people will label you a snob.

Believe it or not women use silence as a most effective weapon and men panic, well why wouldn't we?? How can any women run out of words?? Silence is such a paradox!!

When kids make noise people get irritated and when they become silent, they worry.
When women talk too much it's a problem and when they get silent men panic.
When men argue women have a problem and when they chose to be silent, women get angry.
If you keep silent when your boss is yelling, he thinks you are a joke and if you say something, they get pissed.

I have a friend who I grew up with; I remember whenever I used to be with him I could understand him without him having to tell me anything. We used to spend a lot of time together and so many times, we communicated without really speaking much. I wont say that we have changed but maybe the time has.

Now whether at work, home or with friends we have to say things twice to be heard. Or justify our silence. Maybe we do not articulate our feelings as well as we used to or maybe silence has a different meaning now.
