HYDERABAD: A division bench of the High Court comprising chief justice Nisar Ahmad Kakru and justice Vilas Afzalpurkar on Tuesday refused to fix any definite date for the hearing of the writ pleas for making public the Chapter VIII of the Srikrishna Committee's report on Telangana.The appeal filed by the government against the directions of the single judge was listed before the bench for Tuesday.The counsel for Narayan Reddy, the writ petitioner, pointed out that what was supplied to the court was only a truncated version of the said controversial chapter and that there be a specific direction for production of the entire Chapter VIII.The order of the single judge requiring the said chapter to be made public was earlier suspended by the bench. The petitioner, therefore, sought a specific date for hearing.Plea against CBI action against OMC: Hearing adjournedJustice CV Nagarjuna Reddy adjourned by two weeks the hearing of the writ plea in the Obulapuram mining case. The petition was filed questioning the initiation of criminal proceedings by the CBI. The matter is listed for final hearing. The CBI moved an application urging the court to not hear the case till the investigation was completed. The petitioners sought time to respond to the said application.Contempt plea against lawyers: Hearing put offA division bench hearing the contempt case against a group of lawyers on Tuesday adjourned the case to Friday.The bench was dissatisfied with the failure of the alleged contemnors in not filing their response to the contempt notice. It may be recalled that first a division bench took up suo motu a writ petition on the inconvenience cause by the striking lawyers.The matter was followed by the contempt case. In the meanwhile the lawyers sought a review of the court order.The contempt petition alleges that by their conduct, lawyers had interfered with judicial process and with the administration of justice.
