HYDERABAD: An all-party Kisan leaders' delegation has demanded that the state government directly purchase paddy from farmers all over the state with out any delay.The delegation comprising several political leaders and representatives of the farmers associations, met governor ESL Narasimhan and submitted the memorandum on the prevailing situation about on paddy procurement and farmers problems.K Yarran Naidu (TDP),K Narayana, K Ramakrishna, S Malla Reddy (CPM), V Bhaskhar Rao (LSP), Muralidhar Deshpande (Farword Block), Janaki Ramulu (RSP) Dr Shori (BKS), P Chandrasekhar Reddy, R Venkaiah (AP Rytu Sangam) were in the delegation.The delegation urged the government to accept its demands mentioned in a two-page memorandum. It also demanded that state government should announce `150 bonus for per quintal and allocate `500 crore to paddy procurement.Speaking to reporters outside Raj Bhavan, TDP leader Yarran Naidu alleged that state government had totally failed in paddy procurement in the state. "All the political parties leaders and activists had visited market yards and exposed the government's inefficiency and neglected attitude on farmers problems. Even after that, government is not ready to come to the farmers rescue," Naidu expressed his displeasure.
