Ranchi students axed for MMS scandal
The institute management had summoned the boys and their parents for interrogation.

Ranchi: Two students of the Cambridge Institute of Technology (CIT), on the outskirts of the Jharkhand capital, were suspended for allegedly preparing a two-minute-long sleazy MMS of a female student.

"The boys have been suspended and barred from entering the institute premises," said S C Prasad, principal of CIT, which is located at Tatisilve, about 25 km from here.

"The action has been taken after the duo were found guilty following preliminary investigations. We will initiate the rustication process after the police submits its report in the case," said Prasad.

The two boys, Amit Kumar and Raj Kumar, are both first year students. The institute management had summoned the boys and their parents for interrogation but neither the parents nor the students showed up.

The institute management also seized the mobile sets and CDs, which will be sent for forensic tests.

The girl whose image appears in the vulgar MMS said the two boys had superimposed her face on another body and were circulating it among college students.

"The tech savvy boys seemed to have got my picture from a cultural programme and superimposed my face on the photographs of another girl," she alleged.

The issue became public when girls of the institute took up the matter with the R K Mallik, Ranchi Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), after their complaints were allegedly ignored by the institute management.
