New Delhi: Actor Ranveer Singh, who has been in the news for his so called link-ups with Deepika Padukone, says their chemistry in 'Ram Leela' is a mainstay of the story.
"We were destined to be cast opposite each other. It's a chemistry between Romeo and Juliet. I hope it works as our chemistry is the driving force of the story," Ranveer told reporters.
But when he was asked about romance rumours with Deepika, he chose to keep mum.
Bhansali has picturised a lip-lock scene on Deepika and Ranveer.
When asked about it, the actress said: "I find it amusing when people ask me about lip-lock scenes. As an actor there is no difference between any scenes. But when you are working with Sanjay sir, he makes even the simplest scene most difficult. He tweaks the scene in his mind."
Deepika Padukone terms 'Ram Leela' a very tough film saying that director Sanjay Leela Bhansali is such a perfectionist that he doesn't settle for anything less that what he has in mind.
This is her first film with Bhansali, known for making hits like 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' and 'Devdas'. He also went behind the camera for 'Saawariya' and 'Guzaarish', but they failed to appeal to the audiences.
"It has not been easy, it has been really mentally, physically, and emotionally demanding film," said the 28-year-old, who spent over a year on the project, in an interview.
"The fact that he is a perfectionist, he doesn't let go of anything. He looks at things a certain way and it has to be more or less that way."
"He has a vision and everyone works towards that. So, it obviously has been a very tough journey, as exciting and challenging as it was, it has also been quite tough. So to see all of that come together, I did get a little emotional," she added.
Priyanka Chopra, who has done an item song in 'Ram Leela', describes it as a modern mujra which has Indian vibes with a western touch.
"The song is very different and special because I am a huge fan of Mr Bhansali. It's a modern mujra which you all have not seen for a long time. It's a mujra, but modern. It's got Indian music and vibes, but is still western and contemporary."
"It has got a different look, different form of dancing and I didn't have time to rehearse. I used to rehearse at night," Priyanka told reporters during an interview.
Aishwarya Rai was reportedly approached for the item song before Priyanka.
'Ram Leela' is releasing against Vishwas Patil's 'Rajjo', which stars Kangana Ranaut in the lead role. Sanjay Leela Bhansali is doing well as a producer and now, it's the time to strike gold with his directorial venture. (With inputs from IANS)####
