A partner of the Rajkot-based TRP game zone who went missing after the fire incident last week, was one of 27 people killed in the blaze tragedy.
The death of partner, Prakash Hiran, was confirmed through DNA profiling.
Hiran was among the six individuals against whom the Gujarat police filed an FIR in connection with the fire.
As many as 27 people, including children, were killed in the massive fire at the recreation centre on May 25. Since the bodies were charred beyond recognition, the victims are being identified through DNA profiling.
Earlier today, the Gujarat police arrested another partner of the Rajkot-based TRP game zone.
Dhaval Thakkar, the proprietor of Dhaval Corporation, which operated the TRP game zone along with five partners of Raceway Enterprises, was apprehended from Abu Road in neighboring Rajasthan.
This arrest brings the total number of individuals detained in relation to the fire incident to four.
Previously, Yuvrajsinh Solanki and Rahul Rathod, partners in Raceway Enterprises, along with game zone manager Nitin Jain, were arrested and remanded to 14-day police custody by a Rajkot court on Monday.
The FIR against six individuals—Thakkar, Solanki, Rathod, and Raceway Enterprises partners Ashoksinh Jadeja, Kiritsinh Jadeja, and Prakashchand Hiran—has been registered under several sections of the Indian Penal Code, including culpable homicide not amounting to murder and causing hurt endangering life.
The state government has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the incident and announced an ex gratia of Rs 4 lakh to the families of each deceased victim. Additionally, the central government has pledged an ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh to the next of kin of each deceased person.
