BANGALORE: Support continued to pour in for Anna Hazare from across the state with the main protest at Freedom Park in Bangalore swelling after thousands joined the protests on the weekend. Over 2,000 postcards were sent to the Prime Minister’s office, seeking a strong Jan Lokpal Bill from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.A music band from Bangalore played patriotic songs and On Fire, a theatre group performed a skit, 'Jaago'. Also, a two-minute silence was observed at 5.30 pm in honour of Anna Hazare and for the nationalist movement.Former Lokayukta Justice Santosh Hegde, without naming former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, said those who planned to protest earlier, are now saying that Bills cannot be passed by sitting on the streets.Meanwhile in Mangalore, Dharamadhikari of Dharamastala, Veerendra Heggade urged people to fight corruption at the grass roots.The day was also marked by homas, marches and bike rallies from across the state.
