Prostitution racket exposed, 2 arrested

BANGALORE: The sleuths of the Women and Narcotics squad of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) arrested two women for allegedly running a prostitution business in the city. The women allegedly assured roles in films to girls and forced them into prostitution.The accused have been identified as Shashikala (40) of Banashankari Third Stage and Ruby alias Leelavathi (55), a native of Kodagu and a resident of Sai Krupa Apartment in Malleswaram 14th cross. The police rescued three girls from the racket.The police said that they received a tip-off about the racket and raided the apartment. Upon questioning, the girls informed the police that the accused women had promised them roles in movies and had forced them into prostitution.The accused charged Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 from each customer and led a luxurious life. The girls were rescued and Rs 12,000 cash and mobile phones were recovered from the accused. A case has been registered in Malleswaram police station.
