Pak hasn't understood sentiments underlying the moves aimed at achieving cordial ties Pranab Mukherjee told troops.

New Delhi: India's neighbour Pakistan - with which it has lately been trying to build bridges of peace and friendship after decades of strife - has failed to understand the sentiments underlying the moves aimed at achieving cordial neighbourly ties, Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee said on Monday.

"Infiltration of terrorists from across the borders is not stopping. We have information about involvement of Pakistan-supported terrorists in the Mumbai serial blasts," he said in a message to the troops on the eve of Independence Day 2006.

American satellites had picked up some pictures of terrorists camps in Pakistan where terrorist training was being provided to terrorists, he said substantiating the charge read out in the message broadcast over All India Radio on Monday evening.

Pakistani mischief notwithstanding, Pranab Mukherjee still hoped that it would get rid of such activities and 'try to behave like a good neighbour'.

India, he asserted, had taken some concrete measures to revive ties with its neighbour.

"Respecting the sentiments of both citizens, Srinagar-Muzaffarabad Bus Service and Poonch-Rawalakot Bus Service have been commenced," he pointed out.

The Minister also listed the priorities of his Ministry vis-a-vis the three Services as well as other Armed Forces of the Union like the Coast Guards - with welfare of personnel topping the list, which also included modernising them in contex with modern defence strategy.

Maintaining good relations - strengthening fraternal ties - with Armed Forces of other countries, too, was listed by Mukherjee as a priority area.
