Mumbai: BCCI President Sharad Pawar on Saturday refused to react to the row between West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and Cricket Association of Bengal President Jagmohan Dalmiya.
Declining to comment on the scathing remarks made by Bhattacharjee after Dalmiya emerged victorious in the CAB polls, Pawar said he did not want to react to them.
"I do not want to react. CAB is one of the state associations of the BCCI. He (Bhattacharjee) is generally known to be polite and articualte. I do not know what is the provocation for giving such reaction," Pawar said.
"BCCI has members affiliated to various political parties. We do not want to bring politics in BCCI," he said.
On July 31, Bhattacharjee termed Dalmiya's re-election as CAB President, after having defeated his own preferred candidate Kolkata Police Commissioner Prasun Mukherjee, as a "victory of evil over good," and vowed to continue the fight to remove the cricket administrator from the CAB in the "interest of the game."
"Until he is removed, the fight will continue."
