New Delhi: A day after the u-turn from Pakistan over the Pathankot terror attacks probe, Indian government sources clarified that full permission was given to the joint investigation team (JIT), which conducted the probe.
Sources in the government added that the neighbour was not serious about investigating the attack.
Pointing out that the Pakistan probe team was allowed to examine all witnesses, sources told CNN-IBN that the sudden denial from Pakistan side was nothing but pressure from terror groups.
Meanwhile, Pakistani media claimed that the JIT was of the opinion that the Pathankot attack was staged by India. Pakistan JIT has also concluded that the standoff between the Indian Army and alleged terrorists ended within hours after the attack.
According to the Pakistan media, the JIT report has said that the Indian authorities made it a three-day drama to get maximum attention from the world community in order to malign Pakistan.
CNN-IBN had reported on Monday that Pakistan was unlikely to allow a team of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to the country for investigation.
Top government sources in Pakistan had told CNN-IBN that the NIA would not be allowed visit to the country or access to Masood Azhar or other JeM top leaders.
Pakistan asserted that India must not expect reciprocity in Pathankot probe, even as a joint investigation team (JIT) recently visited the airbase in the border town and was provided access to witnesses.
Absolving JeM and ISI of role in Patahnkot attacks, Pakistan accused India of a "shoddy probe" and maligning the neighbor by dragging the name of Pakistan spy agency ISI.
The neighbouring country has also claimed that the JIT was taken to the attack site for 45 minutes only.
A day after its return from India, the Pakistani JIT had on Saturday claimed that Indian authorities "failed" to provide evidence to prove that Pakistan-based terrorists had stormed the IAF base, a media report had said.
