Office staff claim vibrations in building

KOLLAM: The employees of the Office of Assistant Director of Resurvey and Land on the third floor of the K Thankappan Memorial Municipal Shopping Complex here claimed that they felt mild vibrations which lasted for four seconds. About 42 employees of the Technical and Administrative Departments of the office left the building after they felt the vibrations.  However, people at other commercial establishments on the same floor did not feel the vibration. The incident happened about 2.10 pm and the employees were not ready to return to the building.   The reason for the vibrations was not known and there were no trains passing through the railway track behind the complex at the time, employees said.   The five-storied building which is 30 year old is in a bad condition.
