A tourist bus overturned on Wednesday near Mahakudi village in Odisha’s Kandhamal, resulting in injuries to at least 25 tourists from West Bengal.

The visitors from the neighbouring state visited Daringbadi and were heading towards Gajapati when the driver of the bus lost control at a turning point. The bus turned turtle on the roadside, leaving 25 of the occupants injured.

Local authorities coordinated with the fire department and successfully conducted the rescue operation. They also assisted the injured to reach the hospital.

The victims were admitted to Brahmanigaon Hospital while two of them were later referred to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur because of their serious conditions.

The ill-fated tourist bus was travelling from West Bengal.
