Notice to Lokayukta, Balakrishna Gowda

BANGALORE: The High Court on Friday issued a notice to the Lokayukta and complainant S N Balakrishna in the case against H D Balakrishna Gowda.   A single bench headed by Justice B V Pinto hearing the petition filed by Gowda, issued the notices and later adjourned further hearing of the case till November 9.   It may be recalled that Lokayukta special court Judge N K Sudhindra Rao had on September 24 directed Lokayukta police to investigate the complaint and file a report, following which a raid was conducted on Gowda’s house and an FIR was filed.   Gowda is facing charges of possessing disproportionate assets worth Rs 70 crore — which is currently said to be valued at Rs 500 crore — when he retired from government service.
