KOCHI: The Kochi Metro Rail Limited began the dismantling work of the spans of the motor bays of the North Railway Overbridge (RoB) over the railway track on Tuesday.“The spans above the railway track on both sides of the North RoB will be pulled down within one week,” Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) project director P Sriram said.Earlier, there were apprehensions over the blockage of power supply and re-routing the trains. But Sriram said that the demolition of the spans will be completed without disrupting the rail traffic.With the demolition of the spans over the railway track, the dismantling of the first motor bay would be completed. The dismantling of the second bay is also progressing and DMRC authorities are confident of completing the entire re construction works within the stipulated 18 months.
