Dehradun: A video clip aired by TV channels on Wednesday showed Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank purportedly discussing on telephone with an unidentified person when and how yoga guru Ramdev should end his fast.
The Chief Minister's office declined to respond to queries by newsmen on the YouTube clip, uploaded by a user just named 'GBJournalist', that recorded the purported conversation at a public venue.
Ramdev ended his nine-day fast against corruption on Sunday in Dehradun, following appeals by several religious and political leaders in the BJP-ruled state.
The clip, which could inject another dimension in Ramdev's fast, showed Pokhriyal in a phone conversation with someone he refers to repeatedly as "Babuji." Congress has claimed Ramdev's fast against corruption was backed by BJP and RSS.
The phone conversation is purported to have taken place a few hours before Ramdev ended his fast.
The clip showed Pokhriyal saying he has been in constant touch with Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravishankar and with Ramdev about when the yoga exponent would end his fast.
Ravishankar played an active role in ensuring Ramdev broke his fast.
