NCC cadets to pledge against drug abuse

BANGALORE: NCC Directorate of Karnataka and Goa is organising a number of programmes across the two states as part of the campaign against drug abuse on June 26, 2011. Approximately 300 cadets of the two NCC groups in Bangalore are taking part in events spread across the city. Fifty cadets will participate in the run for awareness against drugs at Cubbon Park. Air Commodore S S Deshpande, Deputy Director General of the NCC Directorate of Karnataka and Goa will flag off the run.
A painting competition has been organised in educational institutions to spread awareness on the ill effects of drugs. A skit highlighting the consequences of drug abuse at Garuda Mall will further spread the message amongst the youth who throng the Mall on weekends is also organised.
