More Bollywood movies now on YouTube
Shemaroo released some of its old classics and latest releases on YouTube.

Kolkata: Shemaroo Entertainment released some of its old classics and latest releases for free online viewing on YouTube.

Launching their own YouTube channel youtube.com/shemaroomovies, the entertainment company seeks to set a new trend in the industry's distribution strategy as films were released online as well as in the form of DVDs.

Initially around 20 titles have been selected from Shemaroo's collection, including films like like Dil Toh Bachha Hai Ji, Aakrosh Dhamaal, Anwar, Fool-n-Final and all time classics like Anand, Mili, Golmaal, Teesri Kasam and The Great Gambler.

"With digital media spreading its wings globally we can say that ours is the YouTube generation, where one seeks a variety of content on a single platform (YouTube)," said Jai Maroo, director of Shemaroo Entertainment.

They have plans to release more full-length premium Bollywood films in high quality on the Google-owned online video sharing site.

Gautam Anand, director of content partnership for Google JAPAC said, "Long form premium content like movies is emerging as a category in demand on YouTube and we are committed to bringing cinema across all genres to our users".
