A man who killed his friend by hitting him on his head at Pallimuku last week was arrested on Monday. The arrested is Baby, 60, of Nalpadam, Kadapara, Malayatoor.
According to police, the incident occurred on September 23 following a brawl between Baby and victim Sheron, 33, of Starbar Cottage, Palluruthy. The duo stayed and worked together by collecting scraps from houses. Earlier Baby was employed as a guard at a temple at Pallimukku but he was dismissed from the post following allegations of misbehaviour.
Sharon has a wife and child but he left them and stayed with Baby.
“They used to sleep in front of shops at night. Baby had hit Sharon on his head with a wood. After the incident Baby went missing. He was staying at various hideouts in Guruvayur and Chottanikara. He was arrested from Kalamassery railway station on Sunday evening,” a police official said.
