BANGALORE: The Yeshwantpur police arrested a 20-year-old youth on the charge of murdering two persons in separate incidents. Investigations revealed that he did it as the victims tried to resist him from robbing their valuables.The accused has been identified as Poojappa, who lived near Gayatri Temple in Byrahanumaiah Colony in Yeshwantpur.The police said that an unidentified man, who was sleeping in an abandoned building in Mathikere 80 Feet Road was killed by dropping cement hollow blocks on December 12, 2011. Similarly, Ramesh, who was sleeping in a BBMP lorry near Chowdeshwari bus stop, was murdered on March 11. The police had questioned more than 160 suspects in connection with these murders but the investigations headed no where. However, they conducted awareness campaign about such murders and had asked the public to give information about suspicious persons.“Based on a credible information, Poojappa was picked up from his house on Tuesday. When questioned, he confessed of committing the two murders. He was a daily wage worker and used to rob people who were found walking alone and take away valuables from people sleeping on footpaths. Similarly, he murdered Ramesh and the other unidentified man,” the police explained. Further investigations are on.
