CHENNAI: It was a fitting tribute to bureaucrat turned politician K Malaisamy on Saturday as celebrities from different walks of life highlighted his achievements while releasing his four books, including a biography penned by writer-journalist Rani Maindan.The dignitaries, which included Speaker D Jayakumar, noted film director and Dada Saheb Phalke award winner K Balachander, Mayor Saidai Duraisamy, Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission chairman and former DGP R Natraj, High Court judge S Rajeshwaran and veteran parliamentarian Era Chezhiyan, highlighting his oratorical capabilities said he was a role model for politicians and bureaucrats.Recalled Malasamy’s contribution to the city as Chennai corporation commissioner, Saidai Duraisamy said that he was a role model for many. Balachander hailed him as a man of conviction, a teetotaller with a subtle sense of humour.Jayakumar highlighted his command over both Tamil and English and released four books published by Kalam publications. These include Arasu Pani Arasiyal Pani, a biography by Rani Maindan, Some Random Thoughts held in Parliament, Abroad and Elsewhere (A collection of Malaisamy’s English speeches in parliament abroad and elsewhere were collected in the book), Atchi Eyalun Andhiya Nattu Anubhavamgalaum and Perumaikuriya Periyorkulum Periya Eyyakamum.
