Magistrate issues summons to Speaker, minister

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Judicial First Class Magistrate Court-III here on Friday issued a summons notice to Speaker G Karthikeyan and Minister for Transport V S Sivakumar, in connection with a case against them. In the notice, the Magistrate F Asheeda directed Karthikeyan and Sivakumar to summon themselves before the court on December 6.  The case pertains to unlawful assembly and taking out a protest march at Thampanoor, causing disturbance to the public life, in 2009. They had taken out the match in protest against the alleged attack on Chalai ward president of district Congress committee. DCC general secretary Manacaud Suresh and Corporation Councillor Harikumar are the other accused in the case.
