KV Singhdeo: Sort out IOC depot problem

BHUBANESWAR: Leader of the BJP Legislature Party KV Singhdeo on Friday requested Speaker Pradip Amat to direct the State Government to sort out the problem arising out of the decision of the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) to shut down its Sambalpur depot.  Raising the issue in the Assembly, Singhdeo said the IOC has asked stockists to lift their quota from Paradip. The BJP member said as kerosene is meant for the poor, the decision has hurt their interest as stockists of nine western Orissa districts have decided not to lift any stock from Paradip.  Singhdeo said the transportation cost is still 97 paise per km. The decision to revise the transportation cost is pending since 2000 as every time a file goes to the Chief Minister’s Office, it comes back with the proposal rejected, he said.   The BJP leader requested the Speaker to intervene and sort out the matter in the interest of the poor.
