MYSORE: Former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, it seems, has mellowed down his rebellious streak. After threatening to rebel against the party if not given given a suitable position in the party, Yeddyurappa gave the impression that he is averse to taking such risks anymore. “Humble conduct is necessary for a good future in politics,” he addressed the Media here on Friday when his attention was drawn to his Sankranti deadline. He also denied allegations that he is setting the pitch to form a political outfit or join the Sharad Pawar-led NCP. “With just 110 MLAs, we had to face many problems in running the government because of the Congress, JD(S) and a section within the BJP. We do not want the situation to repeat... For that we have to win 150 seats in the next assembly elections. Hence, I have started our party campaign with more than one-and-a quarter years to go for the election,” he elucidated. On rumours of his contesting from Gundlupet constituency in the next elections, Yeddyurappa said that he has been receiving invites from many districts but will not disclose as of now from where he will contest polls. On party state party president K S Eshwarappa’s comments that his tour is not a party-sponsored programme, the former chief minister said: “If the party holds a tour, I will give first preference to it. Eshwarappa’s efforts are directed at building the party and he is doing it accordingly.”
