New Delhi: Bengali actor Parambrata Chatterjee, whose role of a policeman in Kolkata in suspense drama 'Kahaani' was the toast of the town this year, has embarked on his third directorial venture with writer Nabarun Bhattacharya's political novel 'Juddho Poristhiti'. Chatterjee has only just recently bought the rights to Bhattacharya's story.

'Juddho Poristhiti' revolves around the hallucinations of a deranged revolutionary and his interpersonal relationships. The lead protagonist, a product of the volatile 70s, is a former Naxalite who frequently escapes from the mental asylum he is housed at, triggering a manhunt and uproar.

Chatterjee told IBNLive it was too premature to comment on the outcome of this project but that he had bought the rights to the political novel. "Nothing has been finalised yet," he said. This will be his third directorial venture after 'Jiyo Kaka' and 'Hawa Badal'.

Chatterjee beautifully complimented actor Vidya Balan in his role of the policeman who breaks protocol, rules and convention to get her to her goal and somewhere down the line becomes attracted to her. He recently acted in the Bengali film Hemlock Society after last year's superhit 'Baise Shrabon', which also starred Prasenjit.

Chatterjee is also said to have accepted director Jeffrey D Brown's latest film 'Sold' on child trafficking. His first directorial venture 'Jio Kaka' did not click with the audience. The second film he directed was Hawa Badal, whose story revolved around two long-lost friends.
