A bride in a village in Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh named Gayatri Harprasad refused to marry a groom Brajkishore Prajapati after his girlfriend Santoshi arrived at the wedding venue. Santoshi had arrived at the venue with three children. As per reports, the Jaimala ceremony, also known as the var mala ceremony was going on and Gayatri was about to put the garland on the groom.
All of a sudden, she heard the loud wails of Santoshi at the venue who introduced herself as Brajkishore’s girlfriend. This prompted Gayatri to leave the wedding in between and contact the Ajnar Police Station to intervene. Upon reaching the wedding venue, the police managed to calm down all the groups involved and asked them to report to the local police station. The concerned parties were requested to sort out the issue via a mutual agreement.
The bride’s family has reportedly demanded full payment of the wedding expenses incurred from the groom’s side and has also refused the marriage. Meanwhile, the groom’s girlfriend is adamant about her stand to be with him.
Talking to the media, Gayatri said that the groom’s family had deceived them by not informing them about the prior relationship of the boy with another girl. Gayatri’s family has demanded the return of all the wedding expenses amounting to Rs 10 lakh. Santoshi has also levelled the allegations of cheating against Brajkishore’s family and said that she had been married to him for four years.
According to her, she met him through relatives and after striking a good rapport with him, got married as well. Following the wedding, they embraced parenthood three times as well but then one day Brajkishore suddenly left her. She somehow got the information that he was getting married again at a venue located 80 kilometres away. Upon hearing this news, she immediately arrived at the spot and demanded to live with him.
Meanwhile, Brajkishore has termed these charges baseless and said that he used to have conversations with Santoshi only on the phone. The Gorhari village native denied having any relationship with her and said that he would not marry the woman under any circumstances.
