HYDERABAD: The Board of Intermediate Education has announced that the sale of applications for admission to the two-year Intermediate course for academic year 2012-13 will begin on May 28 at all government, private aided, private, unaided, co-operative, AP residential, AP social welfare residential, AP tribal welfare residential, incentive junior colleges and composite degree colleges offering Intermediate course in general and vocational streams.The last date for receipt of applications by the college is June 30 and the first phase of admissions will commence on June 1. Classes for first and second year Intermediate will also begin on June 1. Provisional admissions can be made on the basis of online marks memos and the first phase of admissions will close on June 30.The rules of reservation set down by the board have to be followed by the colleges for reserving seats under the SC, ST, OBC, PHC, NCC,Sports and ECA as well as ex-servicemen and defence personnel quota. One-third of the seats have to be reserved for girls in the absence of separate colleges. Admissions should be made exclusively on the basis of SSC marks. The admissions to junior colleges should be made only under the combinations and to sanctioned sections up to a maximum strength of 88 per section. The colleges are required to update information on the availability of sanctioned seats and the admissions made on a daily basis. The date for second phase of admissions will be announced by BIE later.
