New Delhi: In a stunning display, Indian women's pair of Vidya Pillai and Arantxa Sanchis clinched the team title in the 2013 IBSF World 6-red Snooker Championship after defeating Hong Kong in the final at Carlow, Ireland Sunday.
India won two bronze also through Chitra Magimairajan and and Varshaa Sanjeev in the women's team event and Shivam Arora in the men's individual section.
The sixth-seeded Pillai and Sanchis stunned two-time IBSF champion Ng On Yee and So Man You of Hong Kong -- seeded fourth in the tournament -- 3-2 (23-74, 68-41, 51-46, 4-64, 55-36) in the final.
The Indian duo had beaten their England counterparts 2-1 in the semi-finals. The other Indian women's duo of Chitra and Varsha lost to Hong Kong pair of Ng On Yee and So Man You in the semifinals and settled for a bronze.
In the men's individual section, Shivam Arora lost to Duane Jones of Wales in the semifinals 5-2 (55-14, 0-43, 16-33, 38-06, 27-36, 22-36, 01-39) to secure a bronze.
