THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In protest against the alleged denial of justice and religious discrimination, various Hindu organisations under the banner of Hindu Aikyavedi will launch an agitation. Hindu Aikyavedi state general secretary E S Biju and KPMS state organising secretary Thuravur Suresh told reporters here on Thursday that Hindu Aikyavedi and Social Justice Action Council would jointly hold the agitation against the State and Central Governments’ anti-Constitutional stance of denying social justice and religious discrimination. They said that social justice meetings would be organised in 63 taluk headquarters in February and March. State-level leaders of Hindu organisations will participate in the public meetings, they said. They said that it was in consideration of the social backwardness and caste discrimination that caste reservation was implemented in the country. But now, following the Justice Ranganatha Mishra Commission’s recommendations, efforts are on to divert the reservation benefits due to the SC/ST/OBC communities for the benefits of Christian converts and other religious minorities, they said. They said that the government had granted title deeds to the people belonging to the religious minority communities who had taken over the land on lease of tribals of Wayanad district and Koodal Manikya temple, Thrissur. The government action tantamount to cheating the Hindu communities, they said. For formulating an action programme, a meeting of the Social Justice Action Council would be convened in Kottayam on March 10.
