Held for bullying police

KOCHI: The Central Police on Saturday arrested an auto driver Hashim, 22, for obstructing a policeman from discharging his official duties at the Ernakulam Junction Station.The police said, Hashim, entered the pre-paid auto stand without permission and tried to coax passengers to enter his auto. Hashim, who did not have a pre-paid pass, was stopped by the civil police officer Balu. Peeved at the policeman’s actions, Hashim abused him and also flashed a knife to attack him. Based on Balu’s complaints, the Central Police registered a case against Hashim and tracked him down.
