Gulzar's album has poetry in his voice

Mumbai: A man of many moods and a man whose words describe the moods like none. For fans of Gulzar there is some good news.

The writer-poet's new album Kab Aate Ho was released on Tuesday and it not only features some memorable ghazals penned by him but also contains his mesmerizing poetry in his voice blending with music.

"It's more personal this album. It has more of my voice and my poetry. And I have selected the songs which have mostly a male expression," says he.

In this album Gulzar talks about lost love soaking in past memories. And when he met his fans it was time to walk down memory lane all over again as he recited poetry to them from some of his well known poems.

Even after working in Bollywood for four decades, Gulzar's lyrics still create the same magic as evident from the success of his song Kajra re. But does this album also have that magical Gulzar touch ?

"You can only listen to it once. I have my doubts you will be able to tolerate it for a second time," he smiles.

And that's really the best thing about this verastile man. Someone who talks sensitively about love and longing also knows how to laugh at himself.
