New Delhi: The Gujarat CID (Crime) branch, which is probing the killing of Shorabuddin Sheikh in fake encounter, on Saturday seized two vehicles.
One of the vehicle is suspected to be have been used to transport the victim and his wife to Gujarat.
“Two vehicles were seized in connection with the investigation into the case involving three IPS officers D G Vanzara, Rajkumar Pandiyan and Dineshkumar M N who were arrested a few days ago,” PTI quoted police sources as saying.
One of the vehicles is a Toyota Qualis, which is suspected to have been used by the police to transport Soharabuddin and his wife Kaushar BI to Gujarat.
The vehicle, seized from Porbandar, belongs to a businessman who is stated to be a friend of Pandiyan. The businessman had lent the vehicle to the IPS officer, the sources said.
Both he and Kaushar Bi are believed to have been picked up by the police near Tandola village on the Hyderabad-Mumbai Highway when they were travelling from Hyderabad on a Belgaum- bound bus.
Police brought it to Gandhinagar as part of evidence collecting process.
