HYDERABAD: Those employees, who did not participate in the ongoing strike, will get their salaries on September 29.This is on account of September 30 being a bank holiday while those who are on strike would have to brace their breath - there would be no pay for the period they are on strike.Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has given instructions to this effect to officials at a review meeting here on Friday.The chief minister was briefed by the officials that there was improvement in production of coal at Singareni Collieries and that the position was comfortable at VTPS, RTPP and Bhoopalpalli thermal power stations for at least one week..Two shiploads of coal will be arriving in Kakinada and Krishnapatnam on Friday, which might be a great relief for the coal-starved thermal stations.Another ship will be arriving from Paradip. This apart six rakes are reaching Kothagudem thermal stations.“We are getting 1.4 lakh tonnes of coal from Western Coal Fields.The power supply situation though uncomfortable is not alarming,” the officials told the chief minister.The officials told the chief minister that supply was 242 million units on Thursday but it dropped to 236 million units on Friday.The RNL has agreed to supply gas to generate 350 mw power but this option is being kept open for the time being. “The generation is 10,000 mw now in all stations put together and the power purchased from outside sources which was of the order of 1,500 mw,” the official told the chief minister.As regards transportation, the APSRTC could operate only 336 buses on Friday.As consultations are in progress, some more workers might join duty on Saturday in which case there might be further improvement.The attendance at the Secretariat was 84 per cent.In Telangana districts, the attendance was only 20 per cent.As many as 14,188 regular teachers and 4,700 apprentice teachers reported for duty.
