The much-awaited day has almost arrived, and the Men in Blue are well underway with their preparations for the same. The Indian cricket team, led by Rohit Sharma, were captured as training for their high-intensity clash in the T20 World Cup against arch-rivals Pakistan in New York.
The mood in the camp seemed to be all cheery and confident, as players all took to their drills with intensity and a bit of banter to keep the morale high.
Rohit Sharma, who was retired hurt in India’s tournament opener against Ireland, was seen back in form, as the skipper took to the nets to sharpen his skillset ahead of the big-name encounter on Sunday.

The Indian bowlers had a field day bowling out Ireland for 96 but Rohit and the senior pros know that against Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammed Amir, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah, the challenge will be very different.
And hence, the coaching staff made three of the six drop-in practice strips at the Cantiague Park in Long Islands into abrasive ones with cracks to ensure proper match-simulation for top-order batters.
“When you play Pakistan, it is always challenging. For us, we just need to think about it as another opposition that we want to beat them and play well against them, there is a whole lot that we need to do,” Rohit stated in a talk with Star Sports.

With the aura, comes the excitement for the same fixture as well, as this presents the biggest and also the most delectable challenge for the players to shine. And Virat Kohli definitely adheres to the same, as the talisman batter spoke out on his anticipation to partake in the fixture.
“World Cup is a different emotion, different feeling and you can sense that build up. There is nervousness in the air and everyone is buzzing. I love those moments and we play for such moments. It is very fortunate to experience it,” said Kohli.
India will come into the contest having got the better of Ireland in their tournament opener by eight wickets. Meanwhile, Pakistan did not have a favourable start to the competition, as the Babar Azam-led side conceded a shock defeat at the hands of co-hosts USA. This will be the first time these two teams meet since they squared off at the 2023 ODI World Cup in Ahmedabad.
