Chennai: In a heart warming story, a group of morning walkers at the Anna University in a Chennai helped a lost student and her mother by pooling in money to help her get to college for admission in Coimbatore.
R Swathi from Tiruchi had reached Anna University campus by mistake for her counselling along with her uneducated mother and was wandering on the streets looking for direction to Anna Arangam where she was to attend her counselling for BSc Agriculture.
However, what she did not know was that she was misguided as she was supposed to be in Coimbatore for the counselling and not Chennai.
The girl, who had scored 1017 out of 1200 in her +2 exams despite suffering from illness, caught the attention of morning walkers in the area. The alert citizens collected the money and arranged flight tickets for both the daughter and the mother to travel to Coimbatore for the counselling.
The lucky girl was thereafter able to reach Coimbatore on time.
