Gandhi Jayanti celebrated at Swaraj Ashram

CUTTACK: Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated at the Swaraj Ashram here on Sunday. District Collector Girish S N said a series of programmes has been planned by the administration to be taken up in the ashram. “We will organise interactive programmes in the ashram between students of schools and colleges and the freedom fighters who would make the former aware of the freedom struggle,” he said.Besides, the district administration has decided to hold health camps for freedom fighters at the ashram. “Medical expenses of the freedom fighters will be borne by the administration,” he said.Revenue Minister Surya Narayan Patra was the chief guest. Barabati (Cuttack) MLA Debashish Samantaray and freedom fighters, including Prahallad Ray Agarwal, were present on the occasion.
