BANGALORE: The ballistic experts of the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), have began the examination of samples collected from Commercial Street police inspector Sudharshan’s wife Shubha (37)’s death incident, who had committed suicide.Generally, whenever a person commits suicide by opening fire at self, experts collect gun shot residue from the palm of the hand from which they opened the fire.An official of the FSL said that when the bullet is fired, the chemical residues will be on the palm and fore arm of the person who opens fire.“In Shubha’s case, apparently it seems that she opened fire using her right hand. So, we have taken the samples from the palm and fore arm of her right hand.If she has committed suicide, the chemical residue has to be found. If it is not found, then it will be clear that it is not a case of suicide and other angles have to be verified,” the official said.“Even the place of occurrence indicates that there was no attempt of resistance from Shubha, making the chances of any foul play behind the death very slim.Even the entry and exit of the bullet mostly suggests that Shubha has shot herself. With prime facie evidences, we are suspecting that this is a clear case of suicide,” the official explained, adding that the report would be submitted to the police, who are investigating the case, in a day or two.Meanwhile, the Banashankari police, who are investigating the case filed by Shubha’s brother Keshav, said that they are yet to question her family members about the reason for the incident. It may be recalled that Shubha, who was upset over marital discord, had shot herself dead by opening fire from her husband’s 9 mm service pistol at her residence in Banashankari.
