Mumbai: Wardrobe malfunction. The dreaded term is back to haunt models and fashion show organisers.
Long after the infamous slip-ups during the Lakme India Fashion Week created a furore, an FIR was filed on Friday at Mumbai's Marine Drive Police Station on wardrobe malfunctions that occurred during the fashion extravaganza.
The FIR was registered against the organisers of LIFW, FMCG firm Hindustan Lever, Zee Telefilms, and two models.
A local court had ordered a probe into the incident that involved models Carol Gracias and Gauhar Khan.
Hearing a complaint filed by a social activist, it asked the Marine Drive police in South Mumbai to investigate the matter and submit a report by August 17.
The complainant, Prakash Rajdev, alleged that the police had failed to investigate the case and had given a clean chit to the offenders.
He alleged that the incidents were intentional and the models indulged in "nudity and obscenity" that constituted offences under the Indian Penal Code.
While walking down the ramp during the mega fashion fiesta, apparel worn by models Carol Gracias and Gauhar Khan had slipped out of place.
The incident sparked – off a nationwide debate on fashion and moral policing and also created a furore in the Maharashtra Assembly.
