BHUBANESWAR: An engineering student, frustrated over his poor performance in exams, allegedly committed suicide on Monday night. The student has been identified as Anup Ojha, a second year B Tech student of Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER). Ojha’s body was found locked from inside his room in a private accommodation where he was staying.The Khandagiri police found paper whitener and polythene near his body. Police suspect an overdose of substance abuse to be the cause of his death. “Ojha had a few back papers from his previous exams and was reportedly being pressurised by his family to do well. This might be the reason why he took the extreme step,” said a cop. Ojha was not new to substance abuse as police found out several bottles of whiteners outside his room’s window. An unnatural death case has been registered.
