BALASORE: The CMO has finally updated the e-abhijoga portal of the Chief Minister’s grievance cell. The portal earlier carried a lot of wrong information about the officers and governance.The rectification, however, came in the wake of a report in these columns on May 6 which highlighted the callousness of officials at the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) in maintaining and updating data.The CMO drew flak from various quarters as it had mentioned Manish Kumar Verma as collector and district magistrate of Balasore, instead of Additional Secretary of Planning and Coordination Department.While replying to grievances, the Chief Minister’s grievance cell on April 11 and April 17 had intimated the complainants separately that their allegations were being looked into by Verma, which clearly exposed lack of seriousness of the officials handling the cell.While Verma was transferred from Balasore, Akhila Bihari Ota is posted as Collector and District Magistrate of Balasore since February 11.In one of the complaints, the cell had also asked the officer concerned to probe an allegation levelled against himself.Superintendent of Chief Minister’s grievance cell Prafulla Chandra Mohanty said the errors had been rectified and information updated. “It was not properly checked while uploading the data. It was a mistake on the part of statistical staff,” he added.
