PUDUCHERRY: The drama over the double murder of history-sheeters Prakash and his father Sathiamurthy and the hunt for their killer Ganesan ended in an anti-climax with the latter committing suicide at Thiruvalluvar Nagar in Muthialpet here, on Monday.Police said that Ganesan who had consumed poison was found in a serious condition at his residence on Monday morning. He was rushed to the Government General Hospital but he died on the way. Since May 22, Ganesan had been absconding after the murder of Sathiamurthy and his son Prakash, both history- sheeters.Ganesan, who befriended Prakash, had fallen in love with his sister Kalyani @ Sivasakthi and had married her.But Sivasakthi committed suicide in May and Sathiamurthy and her brother Prakash lodged a complaint with the Muthialpet police against Ganesan alleging foul play in the death. Sivasakathi was Ganesan’s second wife.Ganesan allegedly engaged a gang to murder Prakash and his father and both were killed on May 22. Police have so far arrested 12 persons in connection with the murder and had also launched a search for the main accused, Ganesan. Superintendent of police N T Sivadasan said that Ganesan had left a suicide note in which he had claimed that he had been leading a happy life with Sivasakathi but after her death he had been reduced to a mere ‘body and now wanted to join her’. He was also apologetic about having the police officials on a merry chase.SP N T Sivadasan said that the police would conduct detailed tests in a Hyderabad laboratory, from the samples taken from Ganesan’s body.He added that the police would file a charge sheet against all the accused in the case, including Ganesan, and the court would decide on the further course of action.
