CHENNAI: Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Tuesday took pride in saying that the government headed by her has been performing well and delivering goods to the people despite many odds - total non-cooperation from the Centre, inimical media, opposition parties etc.“The tongue is surrounded by 32 teeth ready to bite it at any time. However, throughout its life-time the tongue escapes from the teeth and performs its duties successfully. I am in a similar position. Despite many odds, I successfully run the government with the available resources,” the CM said amidst thumping of desks by the members while replying to the discussion on the demands for grants for the police department. The CM said the Centre has been ignoring every request made by the Tamil Nadu government, whether it is allocation of kerosene, financial assistance or additional power to cope with the acute crisis. “The Centre thinks that if my demands are accepted, then I will become the undisputed leader and hence all my requests are being ignored,” she added.
